The best kept secret in Spain.
Located just in less than one hour from Almagro, the Special Protected Area of Campo de Montiel hosts the best populations of large birds of prey of Spain: over 30 pairs of Spanish Imperial Eagle, dozens of Golden Eagles, several pairs of Bonelli’s Eagle, Short-Toed & Booted Eagles, Black & Red Kite, Marsh, Montagu’s & Hen Harriers, Goshwak, Sparrowhawk, Peregrine Falcon, Lesser Kestrel, Hobby… undoubtedly the biggest density of these magnificents birds in the whole Iberian Peninsula.
Ground mixture of old Holm Oak dehesas and large steppes (with excellent populations of Great & Little Bustard and both European Sandgrouses), the Campo de Montiel can offer birding experiences normally unaffordable in common birding trips.
Very difficult to explore (most of the land belongs to big private-hunting states), Natura Indomita can arrange special tours in the area that could bring us excellent opportunities for enjoy it.
